The Arctic Game Incubator has reached the halfway mark of its first six-month program. Participating studios are already moving from early ideas toward structured, scalable game businesses highlighting the role of targeted incubation in strengthening the games industry in Skellefteå.

Launched to support emerging developers, the Arctic Game Incubator brings together selected studios, mentors, and industry expertise in a focused program designed to accelerate both creative and commercial development. The current cohort includes Jordan Lindgren, Full Rogue AB, and Polysoup Interactive, three teams working across different genres and development approaches.

Skellefteå Science City runs the incubator as part of its broader mission to grow a sustainable games ecosystem in the region. By combining business coaching, industry access, and a strong regional network, the program helps studios navigate key challenges such as funding, publishing, and long-term company building.

– We see strong potential in supporting early-stage teams through a structured process. Not only for the teams themselves, but also for investors and collaboration partners looking to reduce risk while engaging with a growing creative industry in Skellefteå. says Tim Leinert Business Development Manager at Skellefteå Science City.

Over the first half of the program, the studios have:

  • Refined their game concepts and production pipelines
  • Developed clearer business models and go-to-market strategies
  • Engaged with mentors, partners, and the wider Arctic Game network

This progress reflects a broader need within the games industry: supporting early-stage studios not just creatively, but structurally. Building sustainable companies requires more than strong ideas, it requires access to networks, knowledge and funding.

As the incubator enters its second half, the focus shifts toward market readiness, external partnerships, and investor dialogue. The goal is clear: to ensure that participating studios leave the program not only with stronger games, but with viable, long-term businesses.
