The Arctic Game Masterclasses is a new initiative designed to facilitate knowledge sharing within the game cluster. With carefully selected international experts to provide relevant and inspiring knowledge that can be applied in everyday work.

Andreas Waleij and Tim Leinert at Arctic Game, are two of the initiators of the new masterclasses. They hope that the game studios in the region will find this type of event useful.

– Our aspiration is for these classes to be highly practical, enabling participants to apply the knowledge directly to their daily tasks. Covering diverse areas such as game business development, game design, production, publishing, and community management says Tim Leinert, Business Developer and Project Manager at Arctic Game.

The first masterclass will be hosted in both UmeÃ¥ and SkellefteÃ¥, led by game veteran Luis Cascante (Ubisoft, EA, King, Star Stable, Toca Boca, and Rovio). It’s all about the ins and outs of live service games, to develop a player-centric experience from incubation to finding market fit and maturing the game. Live Games have become a crucial strategy in game development to keep people playing on a regular basis for higher engagement – evident in recent titles like Helldivers II or mobile ever-greens like Brawl Stars.

During spring, there will be a masterclass on Motion Capture and Extended Reality (XR) in Skellefteå. Furthermore, a series of masterclasses, both in-person and digital, are scheduled throughout the year. These events are set to occur in the Arctic Game cities of Boden, Luleå, Skellefteå, and Umeå.
