What is a Game Jam?
A Game Jam is an event where participants create video games from scratch in a limited time. The goal is to meet other game enthusiasts, try things out, and have fun. The time limit often leads to fun, unexpected, and creative solutions.
Who can participate?
Everyone over 16 years old is welcome! Previous experience in creating games is NOT necessary. We believe that you have an interest in games, game design, programming, sketching, project management, and sound design. You may be a high school student, university student, or perhaps an indie game developer, game enthusiast, musician, or graphic designer; aspiring and experienced.
Sign up as a team or just yourself – we’ll make sure everyone gets to be on a team!
Game Jam on Campus is organized by Arctic Game in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, Futuregames and A Working Lab Umeå.
How long does it last?
The Game Jam lasts for 48 hours. Although it doesn’t sound like a lot of time, make sure you sleep, eat, and take breaks!
