The film and video games industries share a lot in common—engaging stories, excitement, and unforgettable experiences. Even in production, many of the same types of talent are required for both a great film and a great game: musicians, editors, actors, directors, sound designers, VFX artists, animators, and more.

The Future of Filmmaking – Virtual Production

Virtual production is a rapidly growing method that is transforming how we tell visual stories. Using game engines like Unreal Engine, digital environments can be created in real time and integrated with physical sets. This enables more flexible, efficient, and creative workflows—blurring the line between reality and digital.

During the evening, we’ll explore how the technology is used today in both film and games, and how it opens new possibilities for collaboration. By combining digital tools with traditional set work, productions can now take place almost anywhere. For example, New York can be recreated in a studio in Västerbotten—making production more accessible both geographically and economically.

We’ll also highlight the environmental benefits. Virtual production can reduce the need for travel, shorten production times, and contribute to more sustainable practices.
