Press release
17 Mar 2025Arctic Game Skellefteå is thrilled to announce the Multiplayer Jam, happening March 28-30, in collaboration with Photon Engine, Gold Town Games, and Try New Things.
A Connection from Games Ground Berlin
The event stems from a connection made at Games Ground Berlin, where Arctic Game introduced Gold Town Games (Skellefteå) to Photon Engine (Hamburg, Germany). After experiencing Pocket Hockey, Gold Town’s latest game, Photon joined as a partner to support its production and release.
Pushing the Boundaries of Mobile Multiplayer
Ice hockey is one of the fastest sports, and translating that speed and intensity into a mobile game is no easy task. Photon Engine and Gold Town Games are showcasing the potential of multiplayer mobile gaming. By leveraging Photon Quantum, game jam participants will get the chance to explore real-time online gameplay firsthand.
Creativity Meets Innovation
Also participating is Try New Things (Skellefteå), a multimedia innovation studio with extensive experience in organizing hackathons, adding creativity, storytelling, and innovation to the event.
Industry Experts on Board
“This is a great opportunity to build on Skellefteå’s strong foundation of multiplayer experiences,” says Tim Leinert, Arctic Game. “By testing and refining new workflows, developers can take their projects to the next level and bring their ideas to market faster.”
“Supporting Arctic Game in their Multiplayer Game Jam was a no-brainer for us,” says Christof Wegmann, Founder & CTO, Photon Engine. “Gold Town Games has an amazing game with Pocket Hockey, showcasing how easy yet powerful Photon Quantum is. I’m looking forward to seeing the results of the jam.”
Strengthening Skellefteå’s Game Industry
As Skellefteå develops its upcoming game incubator, events like this jam play a key role in fostering international partnerships and driving new ideas to support the region’s creative industry.
