Multiplayer Magic in Skellefteå

Participants got hands-on experience with Photon Engine’s networking technology, including Photon Quantum and Fusion, while learning from real-world case studies like Pocket Hockey – the latest title from Skellefteå-based Gold Town Games.

– We work with Photon Engine on our new game Pocket Hockey, and this game jam was about sharing this process. I hope the game jam sparked new ideas that eventually will turn into new products, said Pär Hultgren, CEO at Gold Town Games.

Tim Leinert from Arctic Game emphasized the importance of these kinds of gatherings:
– This is a fantastic opportunity to build on Skellefteå’s strong foundation in multiplayer games. By testing and refining new workflows, developers can take their projects to the next level and bring their ideas to market faster.

Photon Engine’s CTO and founder Christof Wegmann also shared his thoughts:
– Supporting Arctic Game’s Multiplayer Game Jam was an easy decision for us. We’ve got strong ties to the Swedish dev scene – two of our top engineers are from Gothenburg and Stockholm – and it’s exciting to see what teams can do with Photon Quantum and Fusion.
