Press release
19 May 2025Blamorama, a game studio based in Luleå and part of the Arctic Game network, is about to launch its third title: Sliding into Luleå. This narrative-driven mobile game for iOS and Android follows the gentle inventor Mr. Dumplie on a heartwarming journey through Luleå — a journey that reflects the local community while also addressing the theme of mental health.

The iOS version will be available at launch — stay tuned!
In Sliding into Luleå, local culture, music, and locations are brought to life through platform-inspired gameplay and cinematic storytelling. One of the main characters is navigating burnout, and the story highlights the importance of support, friendship, and recovery.
A unique regional collaboration
The game has been developed in collaboration with local game students, with Filmpool Nord as co-producer, and several creative talents from across Norrbotten. Local musicians from BD Pop — including Sara Wolin Zerpe, Björn Sjön, and EA Sandström — have composed original music for the game in close cooperation with Blamorama and Kulturcentrum Ebeneser. Through the project Gamifying the way to explore music from the North, these musicians have received training in game music production, made possible by the Längmanska Business Fund.
Accessibility and representation
To reflect the cultural diversity of the region, the game will be available in North Sámi, Finnish, and Meänkieli. “We want as many people as possible in and around Norrbotten to feel represented in the game — visually, linguistically, and emotionally,” says Ingrid Fridesjö, CEO of Blamorama.
Launch Event – May 28 at Kulturcentrum Ebeneser
The launch will be celebrated with a public event on May 28 at Kulturcentrum Ebeneser in Luleå. Visitors can try out the game, meet the creators, and enjoy live performances of the game’s soundtrack. Media are warmly welcome to schedule interviews before or during the event.
Sliding into Luleå will also represent Sweden at the World Expo in Osaka later this year.
