The thriving games ecosystem in northern Sweden

Nearly 30 participants from across Sweden gathered in Skellefteå for two intensive days focused on motion capture technology – a field that’s becoming increasingly important in film, games, and performing arts. Among the participants were dancers, actors, film producers, directors, technicians, and animators, who together explored everything from production and performance to technical setup.

Since 2023, Arctic Game has been a leading partner on the European Videogame Accelerator (EVA) project. It’s an initiative that supports promising studios through a 6-month programme of workshops, networking, and 1-on-1 mentoring.

Developers, creatives, and innovators recently came together in Skellefteå for the Arctic Game Multiplayer Jam – a three-day event filled with prototyping, learning, and collaboration. Hosted in partnership with Photon Engine, Gold Town Games, and Try New Things, the jam focused on the potential of multiplayer games and the tools that bring them to life.
