A year ago, around 30 participants from across Sweden gathered in Skellefteå to learn about motion capture. Dancers, actors, film producers, directors, technicians, and animators explored during the workshop how creative expression and advanced technology come together in mocap productions.

The Arctic Game Incubator has reached the halfway mark of its first six-month program. Participating studios are already moving from early ideas toward structured, scalable game businesses highlighting the role of targeted incubation in strengthening the games industry in Skellefteå.

From 30 January to 1 February, the Arctic Game Global Game Jam 2026 brought together around 50 game developers, designers, artists, and storytellers in Skellefteå for an intensive weekend of creativity and collaboration. Organised by Arctic Game for the third year in a row, the event challenged participants to create playable game prototypes in just 48 hours.
