Wille Pilquist from Skellefteå has secured a publishing deal for his game Hellsprint. The publisher is European Speedrunner Assembly, the organization behind some of Europe’s largest speedrunning events, and this marks the first time they have published a game.

Skellefteå Science City’s game incubator, Arctic Game Incubator, has secured continued funding through 2029 under the CreativeTech North initiative. The project is an EU-co-funded initiative led by Luleå University of Technology (LTU).

The second edition of Skeå Creative Connect took place in early June 2026 in Skellefteå, drawing around 230 visitors from 85 organisations across traditional industry, tech, and games. The event has grown into one of northern Sweden’s most significant meeting points for the creative tech industry.
