PROJECTS

INTERSECTIVE GAME

The project goal is to establish a test bed cluster in gaming technology and methodology, which via innovation in intersections and increased exchange between sectors strengthens technology and service development in the gaming industry and other industries.

Intersective Game is a 3-year ERUF ÖN project with Skellefteå Science City as the project owner. The project is also co-financed by Region Västerbotten, Region Norrbotten, Skellefteå municipality, Umeå municipality, Luleå municipality, and Boden Business Park.

For the Games Industry:

  1. Cutting-Edge Tech Integration: The project places a strong emphasis on incorporating the latest technological advancements, such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR). Game developers can harness these technologies to create more immersive and innovative gaming experiences.

  2. Collaborative Opportunities: The project promotes collaboration across various industries. This means that game studios can team up with non-gaming companies to explore new possibilities for their games, potentially leading to groundbreaking features and gameplay mechanics.

  3. Enhanced Gameplay and Storytelling: By leveraging AR, VR, and XR technologies, game designers can offer players entirely new ways to interact with their games, resulting in more engaging and captivating narratives.

  4. Skill Development: Through events like Hackathons, Game Jams, seminars and more, the project offers chances to sharpen your skills, gain fresh perspectives, and foster new cross-borders connections.

For Traditional Industries:

  1. Technology Adoption: Traditional sectors can learn how to implement cutting-edge technologies in their operations. This includes using AR and VR for architecture visualization, training simulations, and even improving customer experiences.

  2. Innovation Catalyst: The project serves as a catalyst for innovation, encouraging traditional industries to think outside the box. They can collaborate with gaming experts to explore new applications for technology, leading to more efficient and competitive practices.

  3. Cross-Sector Synergies: By engaging with the gaming industry, traditional sectors can tap into the creative and technical expertise of game developers, opening doors to exciting cross-sector synergies. This can result in novel products, services, and solutions.

  4. Access to Talent: Traditional industries can access a pool of talent from the gaming world, bringing fresh perspectives and skill sets into their workforce.

In summary, the Intersective Game project offers a unique opportunity for both the gaming industry and traditional sectors to leverage cutting-edge technology, foster collaboration, and drive innovation. Game developers can push the boundaries of their craft, while traditional industries can adapt and thrive in an increasingly tech-driven landscape.
